From small town America. The structure is beautiful with red spanish tile and a textured finish but the worn neon sign with peeling paint tells a story of this store and the downtown community of Coffeyville, Kansas.

My gosh, some of my comment went missing. Was talking about how many folks love seeing "small town Americana" which includes peeling paint, neon lights, etc. And we'd love to hear some history of this business from Mr. Weinberg.

Mr. Weinberg, I never once set out to embarrass anyone or publish this image in poor taste.... it was not created to document a (business) decline but rather an exhibit of nostalgia that represents a community history and sights from "small town Americana" that stimulates youthful memories for many. The neon lighting, peeling paint, simplicity, and decorative artwork on the structure just shows "character" in my own opinion. Old buildings such as this are loved by many... artists and collectors alike... and I'm sure that each has their own reasons. The old Weinberg sign is unique and beautiful and it remains as a Coffeyville landmark for many. I hope you'll post some history about your family business for others to enjoy. I have updated my image description. Thank you so much for viewing and for sharing some feedback.

I am a Weinberg and I think these pictures are very tasteless and paint a completely fabricated picture. This business is no longer around from family issues and the "national retail market" played no part in the reasoning for the state of the sign. I don't appreciate the spotlight on my family from this and are awaiting an investor to refurbish the sign. Sam W
